I’m glad this has finally passed the Senate (Link). If you want Pres. Trump to sign it right away, tweet him @realDonaldTrump. Too many vets have died waiting for this.
“WASHINGTON — A measure was included in the final version of the defense bill to grant Department of Veterans Affairs benefits to tens of thousands of Vietnam War veterans believed to be suffering the effects of Agent Orange.
A group of lawmakers Wednesday finalized the 2021 National Defense Authorization Act, a policy and spending bill for the Defense Department that passes through Congress every year. It’s a compromise between separate versions of the bill passed earlier this year by the Republican-led Senate and Democratic-led House.
The final version includes a measure that would approve benefits for Vietnam War veterans suffering from bladder cancer, hypothyroidism and Parkinson’s-like symptoms — conditions thought to be caused by exposure to the chemical herbicide Agent Orange. The provision would add the diseases to the VA presumptive list, which lowers the amount of proof veterans must provide in order to receive VA benefits.”

Thailand? Hell, how about Okinawa where the Military stored millions of gallons of Agent orange and continued denying it for years? Then came the photographs proving different. This is probably just the tip of the iceberg… while this is positive it is certainly a day late and a dollar short…

Yea, congress did a great job showing us their “gratefulness” of a grateful nation, waiting like this till many of those vets have died. Great job congress. DO IT AGAIN!
All well and good but once again us Thailand vets who are classified as Vietnam vets and were awarded the appropriate ribbons for our serve have been ignored as usual. We were exposed and we suffer the same as boots on the ground. As the years go by we will die off and the government that stabbed us in the back could careless

I’ll try to find info. on Thailand vis-a-vis these presumptives. We need to get these toxic chemical claims won for everyone who was exposed. And make it easier for younger vets.
The only Thai vets that have a chance of getting covered for AO/herbicide exposure are military police or augments who walked the perimeter (must prove). Our living quarters were right on the perimeter– it is absurd to think we were not also exposed via airborne and water exposure due to monsoon flooding spreading it all over. I often wonder where we got our drinking water from.
Yep. Giving BWNavy the presumptive if they were within 12 miles of it when all of us in Thailand were about 12 feet from it is pretty hard to swallow. We’ll win when there are none who can benefit. I’m fixing the fallout as fast as I can on these claims. I wish I could duplicate myself in a copy machine about 100 times.Sometimes I feel like a double amputee in an asskicking contest with VA over these claims.
