    Do you know if ILP is available through the VA in Manila, Philippines? I’m 100 percent disabled living here in the Philippines and I asked the VA in Manila about ILP and they claim it’s not available here. Somehow, I don’t trust their word.

      Oddly enough, this is one time they are telling the truth. I’m not sure why they don’t have ILP in the PI (or outside the continental US for that matter) but that is the way it is. Perhaps the logistics is the problem. It’s hard to hire on Davis Bacon prevailing wages in third world countries?

    I am also in the same waiting line of lies and deceit as most all of my fellow Vets are who try and navigate the ILP system. I have been denied and lied to since June 2016 and now June 2017 has come and gone and I am no closer to my goal of getting Music lessons (even though my VA Doctor has suggested them)to alleviate my depression and 100% SC PTSD, than I was when I started this Cluster….I am frustrated perplexed and irritated beyond words. HELP!

      Read all my posts about ILP, Joe. It teaches you how to file for an Administrative review. If they didn’t formulate your plan with you then it’s null and void. You have to appeal. I filed for my greenhouse in 2011. I won it in 2015 on appeal. Sadly, they are dogging it but they have to pay out or face the wrath of the CAVC and CBS. . Don’t get mad. Get even. Use their own rules and Regs against them.

    Is there a way a hobby to prevent mood swings, depression and anger would qualify under the ilp?

      Indeed there is. One of the prime requirements is usually that you be rated at 100% (or more). PTSD/MDD is a classic example of who would benefit. Some have gotten greenhouses and woodworking shops in the past. For a long time, metal detectors were big items. VA VR&E is doing everything in their power to shut this program down. But… as evidenced by my five year battle, it can be done. VA is in the process (and has been for about 15 months) of building me a $150,000 greenhouse complete with all the bells and whistles. I’ll believe it when I see it, of course.
