MILESTONES–ROBERT STANLEY LIVINGSTONE 9/24/49-7/1/2018

Agent Orange claimed another of my brethren Sunday. We will lay him to rest today at noon. Bob came to me after he discovered his VSO had been funning him for a few decades. I was fortunate enough to get him 100% P&T for all of six days before his passing. Now the real battle begins for his widow. Leave no one behind, gentlemen. None.

Sgt. (E-5) Vietnam Service Medal with three Bronze Stars, Purple Heart Medal, Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, RVN Campaign Medal, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, National Defense Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal with OLC and Good Conduct Medal. 11 Bravo

Great float commemorating one veterans visit to the “Wall”. I tested the URL in Chrome and it is valid.

Side note: Having just partially completed my appeal with the VBA(granted increase 20%, remanded radioapathy in both legs for further investigation by my RO) after 66 months. It does take at LEAST this long. I sent a letter to both my Senators in TX, as well as my Congressman. Homeless for a few months, “expedited case”, laughable in general terms….patience is a virtue…that’s all I can say. Build your case, take a personal interest in your case! Go to your appointments and speak the truth. Most VA Drs. do understand.
My current VA PCP asked me more questions than any other PCP before. San Antonio VA system is turning around finally.

  3. Robert Bacak says:

RIP Brother. I have faith things will work in your family’s favor. You will not be forgotten.

  4. Ron says:

I was informed many years ago that what the VA attempts to do is to trundle you down the merry path via the BVA where they can delay for years, which appears to be what happened here. My sympathies to the widow and I hope she wins something. However, these bloodless bastards are intentionally keeping deserving veterans from receiving compensation by delay, delay, delay.
I have also been told that they will not let a veteran sit on these boards because the vet will be sympathetic to the veteran and these scumbags will not be able to keep their high cash bonuses for denying the claims of these people.
One can hear a lot of things but this sounds close to the truth to me.

If you appeal your claim to the BVA it will take 4 to 5 years to be decided. Horse snot

  6. woodguy11 says:

Goddamn VA!!!! I called Patty Murray in DC and explained to her the unjust decisions going on over at the VA, I also told her that these judges need to be educated in medical practice and diseases. That these judges are just lawyers looking at evidence and then case closed. Look at claims from 1995 on and you will see that the judges were more qualified then,

  7. Kiedove says:

So sorry to hear of Sgt. Livingstone’s mistreatment and passing. So sad.

I remember Allison Hickey testified before a Congressional hearing that widows/widowers have to wait a long time, or even re-apply? She supported no gap for survivors to receive benefits. Is she still with the VA? Her remarks may be on c-span. I hope some of the recent VA legislation have corrected the problems.

    • Karen S says:

I cried when Hickey left- she was tossed out like trash. She personally helped me get MANY vets and widows approved. She was my Ait Force Vet Sister.
