Remember those nasty boogers? They refrigerated the serum and then blasted you with it in the arm or upper butt with it. It was like jamming a popsicle under your skin for an hour and the volume was enough to hurt in it’s own right. So now what do we come to find? It was masking the effects of HBV and HCV all along.

Some of us filing for HCV from the sixties and seventies (and eighties?) need this kind of stuff to win claims with. Granted, the number is dwindling dramatically due to the lethal nature of HCV and cirrhosis but there are still quite a number who come here to find the Holy Grail.
Gamma Globulin shots were pounded into us every time we switched continents. If you got a transfusion it was automatic as soon as you got near an Air Evac Unit with a refrigerator. This crap was like popcorn at the theatre. They always had it and were more than willing to blast you at a moment’s notice. I remember a payroll detail that landed at our Operating Location had a Pecker Checker on board and a LIST one day. No shots, no payroll. Go to jail. That was my first encounter with unreasonable authority. Even though I’d had Hepatitis and hospitalized for six weeks, they insisted on blasting me again. This was on top of the one I got four and half months before after the transfusion. When I got back to the world-yep-you guessed it. “Sgt. Nod report to sick call and get your shots up to date. You’re overdue for a GG.” Hell, by then I could have had a raging, acute presentation of HCV and no one would have been the wiser for it. I’m sure the rationale would be “Can’t be Hep. He’s up to date on his GG.”
So here they are. Documentary proof that they knew as early as 1960 and had a very clear understanding by 1965 that injection of Gamma Globulin would mask all the telltale signs like icterus (jaundice) and some of ther other symptoms such as dark urine or clay-colored stools. Brilliant. And they kept on using it anyway. Say, did anyone pass this on to VA yet? They’re probably working on their 1999 stock by now.

This is important knowledge to have at your disposal for a claim, most especially if you had hep. in service. Alternatively, with the vast quantity of evidence now assembled that most of the Gamma Globulin immunoglobulins were harvested from the blood of prison inmates, the chance of a double whammy increases that you may have gotten the Hep from the GG injection AND it masked the symptoms.

Tried to give me a GG shot overseas in 1966 since someone on base had Hep A. Since had had Hep A in 8/1960 from raising wild pigeons caged in back yard, I refused to take it and get it again. Stayed away from them for a week and they finally gave up looking for me. In 1960, Doc couldn’t find anything that sounded like it might help and I almost died from it so was having nothing to do with anything associated with Hep A.
When joined USAF, they gave me a combo Flu and Blubonic Plague’s shot and had a 105 fever. To this day, refuse Flu shots. Only time remember ever having the Flu was a few years ago in Mid-Summer. Sure surprised the hospital ER staff after they tested for everything in the book. Said Flu was a winter sickness! With people like ‘Faulchi’, can’t trust what they say. I’m not a test mouse/pig for their PhD thesis!
Wtf!! I’ve gotten the GG shot 11 times! In fact at 26 years old when I get out of the military 6 months later I was diabetic. Again wtf…
B-1-75, 1986-91. As stated above any time we left CONUS we took the sledgehammer to the ass. I have a number of mates who found out they have hepatitis. Funny they all have Hep A….thx for the info!
my husband and I were given Hepatits C by the GG shot pulled off the shelf prior to 1987. Which was an ignorant decision as there was not a test for Hep C until 1987.
He was headed to Saudi at that time. In 2001 I found out we had this through blood donation testing. My hubby received full VA Disability. But I was only his spouse at the time.

In college during student teaching, I aquired Mumps and immediately went to the infirmary. I was given gamma globulin and decadron injections. I immediatly went into a seizure and lost conciousness and was having severe chest pain and heaviness in my chest while struggling with the nurse and dr. Who were restraining me on hhe table until the paramedics arrived to rush me to hospital! The dr. At the er thought i was allergic to decadron.(which is very rare reaction) They wanted me to be kept over night but the college infirmary dr said id be kept there for observation.I was taken back to there where i refused to stay another minute and called to be taken home. It was worst experience and im still not sure what happened! THE MUMPS WERE EXTREMLY PAINFUL for the next week or so i was in bed with the worst headahe and throat and eyes pain and fatique ive ever known! This happened in 1979. The older infirmary dr was a rotating dr used at a local mental hospital: central State Hospital , his name was dr Gonzalez. I feel i wss given a wrong injection , a mustake tgat could gave killed me

A workmate “turned yellow,” County Public Health Dept. quarantined him to his apt. for six weeks. Then they made an announcement at work: “Everyone should get a shot because what ‘John’ has is very contagious…” Then they pointed at me & said, “ESPECIALLY YOU because you worked near him in that dept.” Being young & naive & “obedient,” I let them give me that shot in the hip. I heard then it was Gamma Globulin & that what quarantined-“John” had was “Jaundice.”
From that point forward began CRUSHING CHEST “as if Elephants are STANDING on my chest” is how I always described it all the years! (40 years this year 2019!) I could barely lift myself up from bed due to “crushing chest,” plus rapid chest-pounding, etc.
Main Point: Marie had written: “…having severe chest pain and heaviness in my chest.” EXACTLY!
More bizarre symptoms developed over the years & it was a torturous struggle to work (even sitting down typing) even 28-30 hours a week. Took a ton of Chiro-Dr.’s supplements (not drugs) for 7-years but only got worse & worse. My BP was very LOW all those years (1980s). Same Chiro would sock me in the arm & holler, “Are you EVEN ALIVE?!” (lol, he was joking because BP was always around 90/60).
Same Chiro, after 7 years, finally gave up, threw his hands in the air & exclaimed, “You have SOME KIND of infection that WON’T CLEAR UP!”
At 12-year-mark (early 1990s), after having Encephalitis & going downhill bad, & could no longer even work, I was finally Dx’d (by an Immunology Specialist MD) with whacked out immune system & infection > CEBV [“Chronic, Reactivated”] & CFIDS. He said, “You’re the FIRST person I’ve EVER seen who REALLY has this.” Another MD declared while staring at same blood test results: “You will have this THE REST OF YOUR LIFE.”
(Strangely, none of them even offered drugs except for anemia. I’m anti-druggery anyway so I didn’t want any, but curious/odd MDs did not even try to push any “Anti-Viral” RXs on me. Maybe they knew it wouldn’t do any good!)
Began reading right away once I had a “name” for the Crushing Chest Monster. Within a few short years thereafter I began hearing that Gulf War Vets had same exact symptoms as CFIDS people. So I can empathize!
(FWIW, None of the MDs seen over the next 18 years or so after that ever said I had Hep. ABCDEFG, & they did take blood tests now & then. I quit all Drs. after that. So, if I ever have had it, I’m not aware of it.)
Bottom Line:
(1) I’ve wondered for 40 years if that dang GG shot had “something in it” that screwed up my body. Glad to see people talking about it!
(2) I’ve been living a “reclined life” (laying down) for 27 years (ever since I had to quit working & won SSD case) because being vertical is misery. If I just get horizontal, I feel much better ASAP, no chest crushing nor pain, no fog head, & can still read & type laying down as now.
(3) Additional word to the wise: If not already aware, start learning/reading re EMFs > Electromagnetic Fields/Frequencies, including any/all “Wireless” things, SmartMeters for Water, Gas, &/or Electric, CellTowers, CellPhones, 1G 2G 3G 4G 5G 6G!! etc. “Wireless” means MICROWAVE RADIATION. It’s a Long-Term Slow-Kill Military AND NOW Anti-Civilian Weapon (Utilities, Telecoms). Not only will it make you physically ill but it can also induce suicidal ideation depending on Intensity, Duration of Exposure, etc.

please get yourself tested for Hep C soon. There was not a test prior to 1978, and no cure before 2012. My husband has chyrosis now. But the virus is no longer damaging his liver. Another good thing about the liver is that it regenerates like our skin does!! He still takes Zifaxin to battle the Hepatic Encephalopathy. But his energy level and response rate gave improved immeasurably.

I just started a claim for having been dealing with it for years , I did the injections & pills was cleared. No hep- c present then little over year it’s back mind you quit drinking during whole time even up to now haven’t touch a drop. Now I have all kinds of issues sever muscle spasms
I figure all this out back in 1995 went to get treatment told doctor what I found out about the shots being a blood by product and how they line us up like cattle.Whats so funny about it is now they say the only people with hep c a drug users not knowing the groverment infected thousand maybe their own father if he serve 60/90s any branch.

Look at the last page on the “Annual Report Hepatitis Group” (second link). It’s a report on Hep B virus neutralization after intramuscular injection of gamma globulin.
It’s the proof we needed to prove gamma globulin hides hepatitis infection. It takes 12 weeks to “neutralize” the virus. The exact incubation time for hepatitis C.
So once again they did it on Purpose to Hide the Hep C they gave US
They did it because they wanted to prevent the symptoms if you caught hepatitis (any kind) so you wouldn’t call in sick. According to the same paper, sick days per case ranged from 21-69 days, so obviously they didn’t want people calling in sick for that long.
They knew gamma globulin didn’t prevent hepatitis. They say…
“the attack rate for icteric and anicteric hepatitis combined is essentially the SAME in BOTH inoculated and uninoculated groups”.
The only difference was that the inoculated group had less cases that turned yellow.
So they knew gamma globulin didn’t prevent hepatitis, it just prevented the symptoms.
And this paper seals it. This can now be used to explain why some of you didn’t have symptoms when you caught hep C so there’s nothing on your medical records.

It prevented turning yellow…diminished the symptoms. So if you got hepatitis (whether it was A, B or C) the gammaglobulin made the infection silent and more difficult to identify.

So am I correct that the jist of it is that GG masked the effects of a disease that they had not identified yet? I know that they knew about A&B but Hep-C was not even identified until what 1988; Sorry, but I am more confused than normal and that is saying quite a bit.
GG pretty much masked all forms of hepatic dysfunction in A and B for a certain period of time until it couldn’t be disguised any longer. Thus, when you did present fulminent, it was with a ripping good case more advanced than one whose normal progress had not been impeded. With HCV and it’s short, transient acute presentation, it often was invisible and the effects subsided before any diagnosis could ensue. Then it entered it’s 30-40 year cryptogenic mode and was invisible.
