Would that it were so easy to fix the mental health problems of the vA. Ordering the tide not to come in was just as futile for King Canute. We’ll see how this executive order plays out. I hope for the best but have come to expect much less after this long.
Of course, being the Devil’s advocate, what took him so long to issue the order? An election year ploy to get Veterans votes? We would hope it wasn’t something as crass and selfishly employed as that for PR purposes but that is what this smacks of.
A day late and a dollar short. How many died before it became an executive “do it”?

I’d be interested in knowing if there is a correlation between the veteran suicide rate and veteran homelessness.
With so much vacant property available, why aren’t they being utilized? (The Vermont VA offers some homeless vets tents. Isn’t that generous of them?)
Shouldn’t there have been a moratorium on banks foreclosing on VA guaranteed homes in 2007- 2008 or earlier when they realized a depression had begun? But wow, how fast Congress protected bankers.
I suppose that they, vA, want us to bow, shuffle and scrape the floor with our toes and use alot of awww shucks when we com before the masters at the vA. Way too little, too late.
I would comment but I must have missed the issue being discussed
See the link attached above. Click on the words “mental health problems”. Apparently our President decided only yesterday that the vA is dragging its feet on getting PTSD soldiers in for an exam to determine their mental health. Vets currently wait 30-90 days for an appointment when they should be seen pronto. The executive order was to do it within 24 hrs. Fat chance, Barry.
