TIME OUT

Please take a moment to say a prayer for member Chase and his wife tonight. Chase is in the Tennessee VAMC and desperately needs a liver transplant. It seems vA induced him into doing IFN txment but his liver couldn’t take it. Brilliant, in a word. Nothing like that cattle drive, one-size-fits-all mentality.

I would also like to thank all of you for making this a warm website and one that isn’t judgmental like some of the Veterans sites I have seen. Vets should never be ashamed of HCV. We certainly didn’t set out to contract it purposefully, and contrary to popular belief, not all of us are hardcore drug addicts as the vA believes. Again, Happy Memorial Day and think of all the ones who sacrificed for what we have.

Chase came though, and is today doing fine. New liver started to work at once, this afternoon he is already weened from the vent. I am heading up to SICU to see him this evening. He woke “wake” until tomorrow, but is rouseable already.

Chase, you and your family are certainly in our prayers. Get well, friend.

Chase’ wife just emailed me this morning and tells me the txplant coordinator wants to know what the name of Dr. vA Rocketboy was so he can express his great displeasure with the man’s medical training. Turns out Chase should never have been in the same room with the bug juice, let alone let them stick it in him. It gives a whole new cachet to the phrase ” vA want to make sure all Veterans get whats coming to them…”

This is Chase’s wife. He has the name of the doc in LR. He mind of needed it to file his complaint on our behalf. I was happy to assist.
Chase is number 1 on the list for his bloodtype in this region. We both thank you for all the kind thoughts and prayers.

He and his family will be in my prayers… I hate stories like this because IFN is a killer fda approved drug! I have cirrhosis, yet, was still encouraged to try more IFN treatments by lovable Va quacks!!! My hope is in God not drugs. My prayers are also with all military familys who loved ones gave the ultimate sacrifice. GOD BLESS AMERICA..

Prayer going out for all fellow Vets that someday there will be a cure without resorting to the use of Interferon. Perhaps instead of AO we should have dropped HCV in the north. Hell, they would not have figured that one out by now. Didn’t take over 28 years to figure out the side effects of AO that is for sure. God Bless all.
