NO GOATS OR DONKEYS HARMED IN THIS ENCOUNTER

Member Jim sends us this latest in the War on Terror. Brings back memories of FAC missions over the fence. We engaged vehicles for the most part but troops were fair game too.

Sometimes we forget how these experiences can affect us later when we come home. This is something that stays with you for life. You don’t leave it there. You will hear “Troops in Contact” frequently. It’s pretty raw and uncut.

The Taliban are brutal, brain-washed human beings but they are human beings. It is still very traumatic to witness and take part in the deaths of humanities’ enemies–and then transition to civilian life.
I think that these videos should be required viewing for the education of VA employees so they can have some empathy for veterans instead of scorn or mistrust. It’s a pity that we live in a world of never-ending violence. Thanks for posting this war reality check.

Military.com has these clips posted all the time….

Correct. I merely publish this as a counterpoint to what happened seventy one years ago and because a member bothered to send it in. It is not required viewing and will not help with an HCV claim. It’s entertainment- pure and simple. It may come to pass that I shall publish more in the future.

Agreed… I must say the donkey taking a dump stole the show. To all here who are survivors of that fateful day THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE…
