How ’bout them apples? The guy who figured it out in 1989 is back with the cure. I just about fell out of my chair. I wonder how this bodes for us with the bug? With the way the economy’s headed, I don’t want to live forever, but this sounds like its too cool for school. Now, get to work on a non-lethal cure for it and be quick about it. Knowing the government, they’ll study it for 10 years before they give it their imprimatur. I also read in my travels today that HCV is now killing more of us than HIV. Great. As for Vets, the figure bandied about is three every day pass from it.
Michael Houghton, I salute you. You should get the Nobel prize.

Bravo! But as Nod says… Now how about a cure for those already infected?!
And I thought ‘Rush’ was the the best thing ever from Canada.
This is great! I searched “Michael Houghton” in Google News and a lot of news services are picking up the story. The one gives a few more details:

Maybe the FDA will give approval faster because 7 years is much too long to wait for this vaccine.
Notice how the story states “medical procedures involving unsterilized equipment” as a cause. That means ALL types of medical procedures….and jet injectors are among those devices that were un-sterile when in use by the DOD. Now that there is a vaccine, the VA may be more willing to deal with HCV claims in an honest way. Or will they just drag on, stalling, lying and hiding, until most of the HCV Vietnam vets are dead before they give SC? ALL combat HCV Vietnam vets and in my opinion, all HCV veterans who received vaccinations via MUNJIs should be given SC! We need to be firm and unwavering in pursuing this to help all those afflicted before it’s too late.
