Sick Monday Humor

More Friday morning humor along the same line…

I walked into a drug store and asked to talk to a male pharmacist.
The lady I was talking to said that she was the only pharmacist and as she and her sister owned the store, there were no male employees. She then asked if she could help me.

I said that it was something that I would be much more comfortable discussing with a male pharmacist.
The lady pharmacist assured me that she was completely professional and whatever it was that I needed to discuss, I could be confident that she would treat me with a high level of professionalism.

I then agreed and began by saying, “This is tough for me to discuss, but I get erections every day that last more than four hours. It causes me a lot of problems and severe embarrassment, and I was wondering what you could give me for it.”

The pharmacist said, “Just a minute, I’ll talk to my sister.”

When she returned, she said, “We discussed it at length and this is the absolute best we can do: 1/3 ownership in the store, a company pickup truck, room and board, a king size bed, and $3,000 a month in living expenses.”

Good one! I think I’ll pass it on.

Well,we’re tired of waiting for my DH health and unit records before filing with the RO. He has a VA health appointment next Friday so we’ll just take the 21-526 form to the DAV service officer afterwards. We’ve had it in a file folder since Sept. 2010. I’ll be spending a LOT of time on this site for the next week looking for tips. Yesterday he found out that he has gallstones and a polyp growing on his gallbladder during his FIRST liver ultrasound. He’s been SVR since 2004 but in researching his conditions, we found out that this should have been done several times over the last 7 years. So the gallbladder will have to come out. His liver looks good–just some fat.

I don’t know if the RO can get his unit records faster than we can.
For HCV, he’ll probably just go with blood exposure from combat activities. It seems pointless to bring up the elephant in the room–MUNJIs–until it’s acknowledged as presumptive. Veterans have not organized a campaign with Congress to insist on it so all these denials are due in part to passivity and lack of political will and savvy.. But when you’re sick, it’s hard to organize.

DM2, hearing loss and PTSD are the other conditions he’ll be claiming SC. Don’t know about high blood pressure. Have no idea what percentages to ask for. I guess each condition has guidelines.

We received a letter from the VA today. It denied a waiver of a $541 debt for non-service outpatient care. I guess we’ll be sending them our very first NOD because this isn’t right. They were able to recover his expenses from private insurance and overcharged for medications. Now we use Walgreens since they charge more for some meds than they actually cost. Grrrrr…….
